Hadadi - The Support Center For The Breast Cancer Survivor

Welcome to Hadadi. Hadadi is a non-profit organization committed to the operation of a novel breast cancer support center in Jerusalem. The center is comprehensive and combines both emotional and material support for women coping with breast cancer.

The Center

The Center provides for all the needs of women grappling with breast cancer beyond the medical - a supportive community, information, support for family members, specialty accessories for coping with the side-effects of treatment, and other services.

The importance of the Center lies in its being the only place that answers all of a woman's needs, during treatment and afterwards, in one place and with the same supportive community the whole way. The strength of the center arises from its comprehensiveness, from the fact that it includes the full spectrum of needed functions under one roof. The Center houses a supportive community of women who stick together for the duration, and for life. Women at different stages of the treatment process help each other, supporting one another and relaying information about each step of the recovery process. This bond created at this difficult stage will, hopefully, accompany the woman thereafter.

The Center in no way intends to replace or compete with already existing organizations. Rather, it constitutes a needed addition and will work cooperatively with them.

Our Mission

The mission of the Center is to serve as a welcoming "home" for women grappling with breast cancer. The Center furnishes emotional and social support as well as provide for the psychological, physical and informational needs that arise at diagnosis, during treatment and afterwards. The Center combines the atmosphere and accessibility needed for a supportive community with accommodation of the physical needs accompanying medical treatment.

The Name

Hadadi is a Hebrew word meaning mutual, as in mutual support or mutual understanding. There is also a level of word play involved as the name also contains the word dad, one of the Hebrew words for breast.
